The Peninsula Tour
The route takes us along along the Atlantic seaboard, South Africa’s Riviera. The road is bordered by towering mountains on one side and the magnificent ocean on the other. Calling in at the picturesque fishing village of Hout Bay there is the option to take a boat out to Seal Island (weather and time permitting). We then head over Chapman’s Peak Drive with its breathtaking views. Have your photo taken at the south western tip of Africa in the Cape Point Nature reserve, where you may also be lucky enough to see some wildlife – bontebok, baboons, ostriches, zebra and more. After lunch we visit the Boulders penguin colony, where you can get close up to more than 2,000 penguins in their tuxedoed finery. We return along the False Bay coast passing through the historic naval town of Simonstown, as well as Muizenberg and Kalk Bay. The day ends of with wine-tasting at one of our outstanding Constantia wine estates or a visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, home of our World Heritage Floral Kingdom.
